SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

Introduction

Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services or SSAS, is a data mining , reporting, and analytical processing tool in Microsoft SQL Server.

First Open SQL Server Data Tools

2. File -> New Project -> Business Intelligence -> Analysis Services

3. Name the project -> “Name Of Project” EX: “InternetSalesCube”

Lesson 1: Creating A Data Source

Right click the Data Source and select -> New Data Source

2. On the Data Source Wizard -> New ->Use AdventureWorksDW2012 not the OLTP

Lesson 2: Creating A Data Source View

Right Click the Data Source Views

2. Select FactInternetSales and Add Related Tables

3. Results

Lesson 3: Creating A Cube

Right Click on Cube Folder

2. Now which one of these tables is a measure?

3. Click Suggest Button

4. Click Next I want to use all the dimensions

5. Click Next and Call the InternetSalesCube

6. Results

Lesson 4: Deploying Multidimensional Cube

Once you click Run. it will process. Once it successfully process, you can verify that it was successful by following the next step.

2. To verify Open Management Studio (Don’t forget to open the Management

Studio as Administrator)

Select Analysis services

3. Once you open your Databases, right click on Fact InternetSales and -> Report ->Standart report -> General

4. Results.
