As the Chief Information Officer of Amerikids, Monica oversees an internship program in collaboration with City Tech students, offering hands-on experience across business, marketing, and technology disciplines. Excitingly, this summer marks the expansion of internship offerings to include international opportunities and partnering with CUNY students. These internships aim to provide students with invaluable global exposure and practical experience, fostering their growth internationally.

Monica’s diverse background, blending fine arts, graphic design, and technology, enriches her educational perspective. In her leisure time, she indulges in personal projects involving Raspberry Pi and Arduino, alongside charitable endeavors like restoring dolls and toys for children’s homes abroad. Her main mission remains to make technology, business, and marketing education accessible to all, empower individuals to advance in their careers, and provide students with enriching internship opportunities on a global scale.

Born in Chile and raised in Brazil after her family fled the Pinochet regime, Monica’s journey reflects resilience and determination. From humble beginnings, working odd jobs to support her education, she eventually earned acceptance into a PhD program. Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, Monica navigates multicultural environments easily, complementing her expertise in data science, development, and eLearning. Her broad spectrum of competencies is invaluable in today’s digital and global landscape.
